If you are from sales field you must have absolutely used or at least heard of the acronyms like ABA (Always Be Closing) and AIDA (Attention, Interest, Decision & Action). The movie depicts what a sales agent goes through in New York real estate environment and how cut throat sales can be especially if you have a weekly sales meeting like the one portrayed in the movie.

Boiler Room

Boiler Room is another classic movie that boosts the reputation of films based on sales and sales people. The movie portrays the dodgy side of the stock market, both the antagonist and protagonist of the movie are greed which makes people do unimaginable thinks like conning people to buy shares and making money out of their targets losses.

The film tells the story of an upcoming young stockbroker and his relationship with Gordon Gekko aka the man who coined the term “Greed is God”. The story is okay, but usp of the movie is the character played by Michael Douglas who is certainly evil in his motives but has a style and panache to carry out his misdeeds. The movie is about the infamous real-life stockbroker Jordan Belfort and his antics, the movie successfully portrays the loose ends of the stock market in late 80’s and how Jordan played by Leonardo Dicaprio managed to tap them successfully.

 

Last but not the least an honorable mention to the movie “PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS” based on a real-life story of Chris Gardner on how a homeless salesman makes it big with sheer determination and hard work. There is one particular scene in a movie where the protagonist is shown trying to be more productive and squeeze extra time into his cold calling routine at work, it shows how he was able to gain extra minutes each day by not hanging up his phone during calls.
